This show is a love story between Akane and Yamada. That's all.
If you see anything else on the screen it's just ornamental fluff, and the only thing that matters is how much Akane is in love with Yamada. Problem is, it's not their mad devotion to each other, but author who shamelessly and ruthlessly makes the story progress in a way that it would end with akane and yamada together.
Someone who tries to understand her hobbies? It's just a mixer mob guy who doesn't even get to have eyes. A girl crushing on him for 3 years, who finally finds the courage to confess? Nerd-glass face doodle girl, who made a silly mistake of confessing after Yamada and Akane already met each other. Akane gets pranked? The whole secondary cast comes to rescue, with Yamada in vanguard.
It's still an alright watch, but I didn't run away from shounens to watch a romance protagonist get bailed out or lead by plot armor.
Maybe it's the target audience.
If you need a cour of slop where a heartbroken cheerful girl gets fatefully connected to a brusque mister perfect who actually isn't blunt but very kind and awkward, then sit your ass down and open wide.
Otherwise it's a skippable romance story.
