The Bowers
The composer planned and designed several bowers in the park. Most of them are situated along the park walls. The impressive bench in the English landscape park, known as ‘the mother-in-law’s confessional’, was named after Genowefa Solecka, to whom Penderecki owed much with regard to manor renovation.
Two bowers in the lower park offer views of the pond with the Japanese bridge and the surrounding fields. From another one, in the new section, you can see the tower of Melsztyn Castle. The wooden bower next to the manor was once a concert venue.
