The Rose Garden
It is symmetrical, with a small fountain in the middle, adorned with a sculpture of Penderecki’s then several-year-old daughter Dominika. Around it we can see rose beds surrounded by a pergola, varieties of hibiscus, and cinquefoils. The perspective is closed by a golden larch and a giant sequoia. The rose garden is a place of repose, full of sunlight and intriguing colours. From there the path leads to a well and a linden alley.
On the way we pass ‘gates’ formed by pairs of various tree species: copper beeches, black locust, Japanese cherries, and balsam poplars. On the other side, Socinus’ mausoleum stands concealed in the shadow of hornbeams.
