What have we been up to?
[edit]- Discussed boundaries of conflicts of interest
- If anyone is looking for a topic for a general interest (open to the public) editathon or project, women's organisations in New Zealand would be a great choice. Anne Else's 1993 book was put online in 2019 and is an excellent starting point: https://nzhistory.govt.nz/women-together
- Giantflightlessbirds showed the work he has been doing with a University of Otago academic on Frances Browne's biography (there is scope to create content on her life and works and also Dora Curtis's life and works: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frances_Browne
- Herewhy has been working with this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:New_Zealand_articles_needing_infoboxes
- Also discussed the choice of infoboxes for the Bra Fence and the Toothbrush Fence: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toothbrush_fence.
- Discussion about the talk page of this article and whether some previous material should be archived: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardrona_Bra_Fence. Which led to the discussion of which conflates types of fences with specific famous ("famous") fences like the Darling Downs–Moreton Rabbit Board fence, the North-East India security fence, the Rabbit-proof fence, and the Dingo Fence.
- Herewhy raised this article and the work she's done on it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_squad_(New_Zealand) After discussion, suggest that this article would be better with a brief description of the group's purpose followed by a table listing the people in the group, and moving the information on the actual abolition to the article on the Legislative Council.
- Herewhy came across this list and found it inspiring to work with and turn the redlinks blue!

- Discussion of the Cab disambiguation article and adding Citizen's Advice Bureau NZ to it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cab

[edit]Outcomes and tips
[edit]- Kia ora, sorry I couldn't make it in the end. How was the venue? Is it a good option for future meetups? David Palmer//cloventt (talk)
- I thought it was good - not too noisy, range of food and drinks, and the Wifi was free and satisfactory! MurielMary (talk) 09:26, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
