Sports & Fitness
Love being active? Don’t sweat it…there are lots of ways to maintain your active lifestyle as a DeSales student.
Bulldog Athletics
DeSales University sponsors 19 sports that compete in the NCAA Division III, the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), the Freedom Conference, and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Intramural Sports
Intramurals are a great way to stay active with friends on campus. From flag football in the fall, indoor soccer and basketball in the winter, to various mini tournaments throughout the year, there’s always some healthy competition going on for you and your friends to join. Follow DeSales Intramurals on Instagram to stay up to date with what’s happening!
We also have club sports teams that compete on- and off-campus against other schools. Contact our Club Sports Director Rachel Turoscy to learn more at Rachel.Turoscy@desales.edu
Fitness Centers and Rec Spaces
Students have access to multiple fitness centers and recreation space on campus. Outdoors, there are two basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts, multiple picnic areas, and a full disc golf course.
Indoors, the Dorothy Day Student Union houses the most accessible fitness and weight room to students. It’s located right in the heart of campus and open 24/7. It features a variety of resistance & cardio machines, a squat rack, smith machine, free weights, a stretching/ab area, and a functional training zone.
While Billera Hall is the main home to the university’s varsity sports teams, the Compardo Fitness Center and Recreation Courts are also available to the general student population as well. Inside the fitness center, there’s an expansive variety of weightlifting machines, squat racks, a free weight area, and an entire section of cardio equipment including bikes, ellipticals, treadmills, and rowing machines.
