Owner of a company | Career American Truck Simulator Guide

Last update: 11 May 2016

To make your company grow, you need employees and trucks for them. Trucks need space in the garage and you have to provide it. You can do it either by expanding your garage or buying a new one in other city.

Purchasing a new garage and expanding the already owned one

You will find an empty garage which you can buy in almost every available city - Owner of a company - Career - American Truck Simulator - Game Guide and Walkthrough

You will find an empty garage which you can buy in almost every available city. Each garage (regardless its location) costs $180000. A new garage have enough space for three trucks (plus drivers).

To provide additional space, extend your own garage (click on modernize in your garage manager) - Owner of a company - Career - American Truck Simulator - Game Guide and Walkthrough

To provide additional space, extend your own garage (click on "modernize" in your garage manager). You can update your smallest garage (which you have from the beginning) to a small garage (rooms for three) for $180000. But you need more trucks and drivers (read more below) to do this.

Later, it is worth changing the small garage (room for three) into a large garage (room for five) for $100000. When your profits rise, buy another small garage, trucks and employ drivers, and then upgrade that garage. And so on. 2-3 big garages and 10 drivers make your company rather large. Of course, as you are the best and most experienced driver, your salary will be the highest one, but after a while trained drivers may bring you even up to several thousand $ daily. [More about purchasing and managing your garages can be found in the "Garage" chapter]

Purchasing more trucks for the company

It is senseless to keep empty space in a garage, therefore buy more trucks - Owner of a company - Career - American Truck Simulator - Game Guide and Walkthrough

It is senseless to keep empty space in a garage, therefore buy more trucks. They do not have to be of the highest quality, basic ones will do. Each time you buy one, you have to indicate its garage. Decide whether you drive your new vehicle (in that case your current truck will be waiting in a garage for a new driver) or employ a new driver.

Employing drivers

Bought trucks should not stand and wait in the garage - Owner of a company - Career - American Truck Simulator - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Bought trucks should not stand and wait in the garage. However, you can sell your previous vehicles and spend the money for upgrading your "main" truck or purchasing even better one. Remember that your aim is growth. A car without any assigned driver is indicated with an arrow. Click on an empty driver icon (below the arrow) and go to the job agency. You can also use the main menu (the icon in lower right corner, next to the bank icon) to open it.

Employ new drivers for each truck without any assignment - Owner of a company - Career - American Truck Simulator - Game Guide and Walkthrough

Employ new drivers for each truck without any assignment. References and skills are all that matters - the labor costs will be similar [more about employing drivers and their progress can be found in "Employees" chapter.]

As in the case of a newly bought truck, you need to find a room for your new driver - Owner of a company - Career - American Truck Simulator - Game Guide and Walkthrough

As in the case of a newly bought truck, you need to find a room for your new driver. Therefore, assign a truck to a new employee. Do not be discouraged by low results; sometimes an employee may bring losses. His/her training takes time.

Follow results of your drivers' with messages displayed in lower right corner. These are mostly income information, but sometimes also costs (when a driver could not find an order and came back empty).

This is the moment, when a garage location is crucial. A garage located on outskirts is not as good and profitable as one closer to the center. The more cities around, the bigger chance for success.
