Dragons Dogma 2: What items can be safely sold? Dragons Dogma 2 guide, tips

Traveling through the vast world of DD2, you will come to find a mass of various items. On this page we will suggest to you which of them are worth selling.

Last update: 28 March 2024

Dragons Dogma 2, like many other open-world RPGs, leaves the player with a wide range of items and ingredients such as weapons, armor items, food or valuables to find and put in the inventory during our adventures. However, you cannot hoard everything - to properly manage your inventory, avoid cluttering and a mobility hit, selling unneeded and surplus items is recommended. On this page, we explain what items can be safely traded off without the risk of losing something valuable or useful.

Old equipment

As you progress in the game, you will find new equipment that may be better than what you and your team have currently equipped - Dragons Dogma 2: What items can be safely sold? - Mechanics and Collectibles - Dragons Dogma 2 Guide

As you progress in the game, you will find new equipment that may be better than what you and your team have currently equipped. The first step to avoiding overencumbrance which can be done on the spot is handing down your old weapons and armor items to one of your Pawns. However, if the old equipment is of no use to anyone in your team, you can always sell it. You will gain some cash from this, and also free up a lot of space in your inventory.

The ideal place to sell equipment will be armor merchants. Merchants specializing in this field are marked with a helmet icon, while weapon salesmen are indicated with a sword icon.

Decaying ingredients and excess potions

In DD2, an innovative mechanic has been introduced in which ingredients such as fruit or meat will go bad if left in the inventory for too long - Dragons Dogma 2: What items can be safely sold? - Mechanics and Collectibles - Dragons Dogma 2 Guide

In DD2, an innovative mechanic has been introduced in which ingredients such as fruit or meat will go bad if left in the inventory for too long. The best way of avoiding this is mixing less durable ingredients into various potions and dishes on a regular basis.

If wares created this way start to take too much space in the inventory, you can sell them at wandering merchants or in cities. Apothecaries specializing in potions and herbs are marked with a vial icon on the map. Although individual items of this type do not fetch a high price, selling them is a much better idea than leaving them in the inventory to rot.

Although vendors in DD2 have their narrow specializations and offer only chosen types of products, when it comes to selling, they are much less picky. Most of them will happily buy almost anything from you, even if the product does not match their profession.

Beware of selling plot items!

Dragons Dogma 2 does not in any way prohibits or stays your hand when attempting to sell important story items - Dragons Dogma 2: What items can be safely sold? - Mechanics and Collectibles - Dragons Dogma 2 Guide

Dragons Dogma 2 does not in any way prohibits or stays your hand when attempting to sell important story items. For this reason, you must be especially careful what you put up for sale at merchants, as not to accidentally get rid of an important quest item, without which you may not be able to successfully complete a given task.
