On the one hand, the Cats & Dogs expansion allows players to adopt an animal that becomes a family member. On the other, we have no control over them, and they don't even have a table of their needs. Fortunately, the apparent problem quickly turns into an advantage when we start playing with these crazy animals. We can try to train them, even then, they will do silly stuff often. It's impossible to get mad at them, though – isn't that what owning a pet is all about?
Cats & Dogs have some great animations. I, for one, can't get enough of looking at the pets. They all have different traits, and some of them may be afraid of, for example, a working washing machine. Then, we have a powerful editor, where we can create bizarre hybrids – like a dachshund with a bernardine head. There's also fancy cupcakes. A cat in a taco costume? There are many possibilities, just remember – even the ugliest mutt has feelings!
NOT FOR THE DOG...
Although there is no complaining about the content of the Cats & Dogs expansion, the creators went further, and released a pack of accessories called My First Pet Stuff. It requires the original animal expansion and brings new clothes, furniture and decorations with animal motifs, and the main attraction here are small furry animals – hamsters and rats, as well as hedgehogs. It's a nice addition, but it's hard not to feel a tad disappointed. Why wasn't it in Cats & Dogs in the first place?
When it comes to costumes, furniture and decorations, there is a flurry of things that express our love for animals small and large, not to mention all the gadgets and toys. There are even recipes for preparing exceptional delicacies. Just be careful not to poison your dog with your cooking inventions – we've also got a new (active!) career path of a veterinarian.. Either way, playing with cute pets is worth it.
