Some players of the beta version of Frostpunk 2 are struggling with an error that completely prevents them from playing the game. We're talking about "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system." If you have been affected by this bug, this guide offers several potential solutions to the problem.

What is the error?

What exactly is this error about? The answer is quite simple. When starting the game, the following message appears:

DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument.

The bug occurs even if you have DirectX 12. Unfortunately, at the moment the developers haven't provided a specific solution to the problem. However, there are a few methods worth trying.

Update graphics card drivers

Updating the graphics card drivers is the easiest way to solve this problem. You have the option to perform this from the GeForce Experience or AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition application.

Windows update

Updating Windows may also help. To do this, you need to go to the settings, specifically to the Windows Update section. There, the system will automatically search for its latest versions.
