You will reach the golden chest icon for the first time when you travel to House Beneviento. It is a gravestone with an incomplete slab. At first, you can't do anything here because Ethan doesn't have the required key item yet.

The earliest you can complete this location is after returning from House Beneviento, which is after defeating the boss Donna Beneviento. Reach the Graveyard in the village.

Have a look at the newly opened vault from the images above. After dealing with the new monsters, you can explore the location - you will find a Broken Slab.

It is recommended to defeat him, otherwise he will persistently prevent you from reaching the treasure. A magnum revolver and aiming for headshots will work best, although if you don't want to waste revolver ammunition, you can use, for example, mines and pipe bombs.

This icon is very misleading. It actually indicates a location under the castle, not inside Dimitrescu Castle. As a result, you do not have to look for a way to get inside the castle again.

The earliest you can reach this golden chest is once you've defeated the Moreau boss. Ethan will need the Crank found in the wetlands. Once you've obtained the crank, reach the Drawbridge as shown in the images, located west of the Altar location. You can use the crank to lower the drawbridge.

On your way to Stronghold you will come across a crossroads shown in the picture. Take the left path, which is the one that does not lead to the fortress. This will get you to Otto's Mill.

As a reminder, magnums, mines, and pipe bombs are helpful in attacking the ogre. The ogre can unfortunately summon flying monsters as reinforcements.

The most important step is to open the door shown in the picture, on which there are 3 padlocks. If you haven't killed the ogre, then just fire several quick shots at the padlocks.

Approach the Mechanical Door shown in the image. You can use the Crank you acquired earlier on to open it.

Go through the gate. You'll see a path leading to an optional mountain area with several huts. You have to watch out for regular and flying opponents here.

Your destination is the hut marked with the golden chest icon. You can get inside through a small opening at the back of the hut.

You must get rid of a single monster inside the hut. You will find a suitcase with the M1851 Wolfsbane magnum revolver. This is the strongest weapon in the game, which you should save for major boss fights.
