One of the primary sources of food in Timberborn is berry bushes. A worker from the Gatherer Flag picks blueberries. This page of the guide will help you in a situation where a gatherer from the Gatherer Flag is not picking berries from ripe bushes.

The reason why your worker is sitting idly by the ripe berry bushes may be the lack of space to store this resource. The Gatherer Flag will only hold 20 berries, so to have more space to store food, build a warehouse.

Also make sure the berries are within range of the Gatherer Flag. When you click on a building, the range of the area where the worker will do his work will appear.
