The personalities of GTO and Sesshoumaru owe something to this series, which is formulaic yet entertaining.
Interestingly, the most dimensional characters are Miki and Yukihime, deeply destructive and pathological personalities artificially toned-down for a general audience.
Miki's addiction to gossip and cutting remarks, day in and day out, could easily be soul-killing.
While relentlessly inserting herself, like a female rapist, into Nube's life--forcing him to endure things she prefers and demonstrating total blindness to his needs, Yukihime depicts the ultimate female evil. She cheerfully appears to mean well. You can't take her to court for any abuse. Nonetheless, she is devoid of empathy, and fails to comprehend, let alone take responsibility for, any of the misery she inflicts upon Nube. She even has a psychotic episode, ruining one of Nube's best evenings.
Miki and Yukihime embody what NOT to be and, especially, what NOT to hook up with.

Nueno Mesuke, better known as Nube, is a school teacher who does more than just teach. You see, Nube's left hand is a huge, nasty-looking demon's claw. He uses it to get rid of malicious demons, ghosts, spirits and other supernatural beings that are giving his students a hard time. Nube's left hand was normal, until one fateful day when he exorcised an extremely powerful demon from a child. He was outmatched and lost his left hand. The only way to fight it was to let it enter his body. As a result, Nube has a demonic left hand where his own hand used to be.

Oldie, but goodie :> Awesome series for now.
Although I didn't like some things, like always taking those kids with Nube, and in the end they always only disturbs. But it's gorgeous comedy! Even if it's mostly episodic, you can't stop watching :) I'm even making subs for this series, to let everyone see how good it is. With old artwork, but that doesn't disturbs at all. kind of addictive.

as one of the old school animes, its fun and enjoyable to watch.
it has some moments where you just keep rewarding to laugh and laugh again. a nice concept with very nice story complimented with GREAT voice acting that is synced with the scenes perfectly.
I'd say skip ep. 48 as i hated it. don't know what the author was thinking... hate even the concept of it.
