Anime: Sister Princess

i have a golden rule which today i have broken it...i never let myself influenced by reviews trailers and so on..
Before i started to watch the series i have no ideea what pushed me over to think "well i should read some reviews cause ...its always better when you read a little bit about the story " i think...that was what i was thinking..not to sure anyway deviating from the main subject , what i'm trying to say its that it was a mistake reading reviews about this show..90% of the people who wrote the reviews are kinda ...haters?i think i'm not to sure anyway its goes without saying that they did not enjoy the show...and while i'm willing to admit its not the greatest show its certainly is not bad
i'm currently @ ep 10 and i have not seen a HINT of incest as alot of people say...not even 1 hint ...maybe people confuse the feeling , the emotion of FAMILY LOVE with I WANT YOU TO STUFF ME BROTHER ....maybe most of the people who watched this anime have some kind of issuess ...i can;'t say ..i don't know.
But this show as i mentioned is not a bad ..sure the characters could have been better...but in 26 episodes?what do you want to do...you need to present in a certain way 13 main characters...thats 2 episodes for 1 character...thats not even remotly enough...
Sure the plots could have been better...but i doubt it was made to have some Death Note plot...or Elfen Lied/Black Bullet plot/action...
Sure the dialogue could have been better and not so plain most of the times..but again..2freaking6 episodes....okay?you need to take all things in consideration
OVERALL i believe this is a good towards very good anime and it delivers exactly what it was meant to do ...if you have not figured it out ...your problem not mine . i enjoyed this show quite a bit and i believe its a show that for some people its a must watch for others its a if i have no other anime to watch why not..

This is the lowest score I ever have and ever will give an anime. Why? Because sister princess is the worst. Anyone who has given this anime under a 7 has said the same thing as I'm about to say; Twelve sisters that love their wimpy brother? WTF? WHY WHY WHY?! Why is anime just getting lower and lower until they finally hit rock bottom? This anime is all about INCEST!

Animation- Someone, get me a barf bag. This anime looks like a stomped on horse turd. Absolutely terrible. I think I'm going to go higher Genshiken's animation score now. Everyone has said this as well; WHAT'S WITH THE FREAKING TAROT CARD REUSES?! I'm not even kidding, I can make better animation than this in a one week period using flash.

Sound- Okay, I thought I had heard bad sound before. Every time I heard the op and ed to this anime, those songs I thought were bad actually got BETTER! Does THAT tell you what I think about the sound?

Story- ...

Character- Characters are soooo cliched and soooo ugly and sooooooooooooooo incest and stupid! I just want to grab them all by their little necks and throw them off a freaking cliff!

Overall sister princess bites my butt. It sucks, stay away. Stay fffffaaaaaar away.

Too forced to be funny.

The animation is okay, but the problem is that the characters (especially the protagonist) move as if they had to fill the time. Therefor you'll see someone not only turning left and right when he wants to run, but 3 to 4 times, which gives you the feeling that they had too much time and not enough people to finish the show, so they reused such frames a few times in a row, even though that looks pretty bad. They also wait just a little bit too long when someone stalls when they get asked an emberassing question, or when they are in a similar situation, which kills the pace of the entire show.
Together with the bit blurry vision as if the colors are blended too much (although the DVDrips weren't much better) this animation doesn't look any good.

The music is pretty decent and although most voiceactors do a pretty decent job on them, the protagonist just feels plain bad. His laugh, the (delayed) jokes, they all feel a bit forced.
The OP song is pretty nice though.

The idea is fun, putting someone in a house with 12 girls who claim to be his sister, but the story is episodewise, which means no story at all. Even the parts where it's supposed to be serious isn't done that well.
They hint to some romance between some of them, but nothing ever happens, resulting mostly in unsatisfying relationships where they hardly come back on the development from the previous episode.

Although the idea might be original, introducing 12 sisters is never going to make any decent character development possible . And if 12 sisters wasn't already enough, using the same character (the ojii-san) for about every other role is really too much.
It's also pretty annoying how all the 'sisters' are really depending on their 'brother', as if he's the most reliable guy ever, while he's the usual guy who doesn't want to get involved at all. That can be a funny idea, but the problem is that he's too much of a boring goody two-shoes to do anything funny.
I do have to agree that most of the girls look cute though, raising the final result with a tiny bit, just for the character design ^_^

Definitely not worth rewatching, or even watching imho. Even though I finished watching it - and there were some scenes where I thought it became a nice series - it was pretty bad. I didn't laugh about any of the jokes and most of the time it was more like I wanted to fall through my chair of shame they ever released it, since it was so damn obvious that it was supposed to be funny - and they couldn't make it funny.
In the end they had a nice idea, but a really bad story/character development to make it any interesting. So if you're looking for cute girls but don't mind a non-existant story or character development, with lots of reused frames in the animation go for it.
It's not my taste though.

I really didn't expect much at all from Sister Princess. Actually I expected it to have lots of kawaii girls and suck on a gigantic scale. ;)
Weird thing is that it's actually not that bad.

The girls are all cute although you'll probably pretty soon get used to the pretty high ratio of reused animations, at least they change the backgrounds! The music suffers from the same thing, while I hummed along to the opening song every episode the rest of the music is pretty basic and they use the same music too many times. The voice acting is pretty good and you’ll learn lots of variants of how to say “brother” in Japanese.

The story in Sister Princess is virtually nonexistent, there are some hints of a potential story but when they actually get around to acting it out in ep 23 or so it's already in a pretty sad mismangled state and well, whatever potential it has is completely wasted. :P Many questions that would pop up in a normal persons head are simply ignored or hinted slightly at, never actually explained. The story you expect actually never happens so I guess you could say it is not that easy to predict although that's a bad thing in this case.

Sister Princess’s charm is the same as its bane. Imagine you have a dozen sisters, all those sisters want your attention and all of them love you more than you see in the average deep love romance anime. Since there's no way this would work in reality with the day only having 24 hours Sister Princess is mostly an introduction to each sister as Wataru finds time or a reason to spend some time with that sister.
While all this is cute and nice it's also told horribly wrong. While the sisters seem to form some groups they still refer all their action to as "for their brother". Wataru sees himself as the center of attention with the sister all having a relationship to him but not really to each others. Wataru himself appears shallow and is horribly weak willed, not exactly the guy you feel deserve to be surrounded by 12 devoted sisters.
It is pretty cute though; I found my own couple of favorite sisters (gogo Haroka, Mamoru and Rinrin!) and actually enjoyed watching it all. Yes! Even though the story wouldn't even support a feather and the focus is spread thin because of the dozen sisters it's still quite enjoyable to watch.

So, if you can live with an anime having virtually no story at all, a complete failure of a main character (well, except on one or two occasions), some pretty fun jokes (mostly in ep 1), no ecchiness but loads and loads of cute girls then you should see Sister Princess.
