Bardock, Father of Goku

Story Thus Far[]
A long, long time ago, Son Goku left on a journey in search of the legendary Dragon Balls-a set of seven balls that, when gathered, would summon the dragon Shenlong to grant any wish. After a great adventure, he collects them all. Later, he becomes the apprentice of Kame-Sen'nin, fights a number of vicious enemies, defeats the great Majin Boo, and restores peace on Earth. Some time passes, and then Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction, suddenly awakens and sets out in search of the Super Saiyan God. Goku, by becoming the Super Saiyan God, manages to stop Beerus from destroying Earth and starts training under him with Vegeta. After some time, the ancient villain Moro escapes from the Galactic Prison After regaining his youth on New Namek, Moro travels to Earth, where he absorbs the abilities of Seven-Three and the Angel Merus. He's finally defeated when Goku achieves Ultra Instinct. Then, Granolah, from planet Cereal, uses the Cerealian Dragon Balls to become the greatest warrior in the universe so that he can exact revenge on Freeza. However, Goku and Vegeta are tricked by the Heeters into confronting Granolah, leading to a grueling battle to the death. Even when Vegeta unlocks the power of a God of Destruction, Granolah proves he is more than a match for him. That's when Monaito shows up to tell the tale of a certain Saiyan who saved him and Granolah many years ago…[2]
Volume introduction by Toyotarō[]
"Thanks to everyone's support, we've reached volume 18, which just so happens to be how long Dr. Slump ran for. That was also around the time Toriyama Sensei got started working on Dragon Ball, so in some way it's like I'm at the same starting point as him now! I can't use my lack of experience as an excuse any longer! I've got to work even harder!"[2]
