The Year of Klingon is the name of an ongoing set of improvements to Klingon content in the game over 2020 and 2021.[1] It includes Season Twenty: House Divided,[2] Season Twenty-one: House Shattered, Season Twenty-two: House Reborn and Season Twenty-three: House United.
Content[]
Revamps[]
All early Klingon content is being completely remastered over successive seasons during the Year of Klingon.[3] This has included new cutscenes, voice acting and gameplay.[4][5]
- Tutorial: Remastered
- Empire: Remastered
- Warzone: Remastered. “Second Star to the Right, Straight on 'til Morning” and “Keep Your Enemies Closer” were merged into a single mission: “Mars, the Bringer of War”. The re-formed Vigilance arc moved “Mars, the Bringer of War” into it, leaving Warzone with “Bringing Down the House” and “The House Always Wins”, dealing with internal affairs of the Empire.
- Vigilance: Removed along with “A House Pursued” “House on Fire”, as they were reskinned Federation patrols that didn't tie into the overall story. “Alpha” was retained and moved to the Warzone arc. This arc was then re-formed with “Mars, the Bringer of War” moved into it along with “Alpha”, focusing on external conflicts outside the Empire.
- Fek'Ihri Return: Remastered. “The Gates of Gre'thor” merged into “Afterlife”. In addition, Klingon players will canonically meet Captains Kagran (before the Iconian War), Koren (before the Solanae Dyson Sphere) and Tenavik (before the Klingon Civil War) during this arc.[6][7]
- “Turning Point”: Environment revamp on Khitomer and new cutscenes.[8]
- “Brushfire”: The final space cutscene is improved and updated with Worf and Lady Sirella's new models, as well as updated voiceovers by Shannon Cochran.
