Sea of Thieves: Resurrection system, Ferry of The Damned Sea Of Thieves guide, walkthrough
Last update: 13 July 2020
In this chapter of the guide to Sea of Thieves the player will find all needed information about the resurrection system implemented in the game. He or she will also learn what the Ferry of The Damned is.
Sea of Thieves features a very interesting resurrection system. Pirates who work together can help each other out. However, there are some limitations. Solo pirates can count only on themselves. If they die, they are on the mercy of the Ferry of The Damned.
Resurrection in Sea of Thieves - how does it work?
When the player's character is defeated, soul begins to leave its body. Crew members have 15 seconds to resurrect such character. Reanimation process takes precisely 5 seconds and it must be performed in one go. Once the resurrection starts, you must wait until the process is over or the character won't be brought back to life. If a character isn't resurrected in 15 seconds, it will be taken to the Ferry of The Damned.
A character saved by a teammate keeps all bonuses but receives only 25% health. It's not much, so after a resurrection it should quickly heal. Otherwise, it can die again even after a single cutlass hit. A single character can be revived infinite amount of times.
Before you try resurrecting your ally, consider these important matters:
- Is it safe to try resurrecting your ally and won't you put yourself in the harm's way?;
- Will you need to sacrifice your ship in order to save your ally?;
- Does saving your ally actually improves your current situation?
The safety of you and your ship should be your priority. Once the situation is secure, then you should focus on saving other crew members. Remember that after 30 seconds they will return to the game with full health bars and restored ammunition anyway.
Ferry of the Damned - what is it?
Each time when player's character dies (and isn't saved by another player), its souls is sent to the Ferry of The Damned. It is a ghost ship commanded by a mysterious ghost named Ferryman. It sails the sea of the damned and it gives defeated pirates a chance to return to the world of Sea of Thieves.
The souls that wind up on the Ferry of The Damned can freely explore the ship and interact with other pirates that were sent there - they can play music together or use emoticons. It is worth mentioning that if a character is taken to the Ferry of The Damned, it loses additional bonuses like the Renewal.
After about 30 seconds the door to the captain's quarter will open. Players can walk through them and return to their ships. Players returning from the afterworld appear on their ships with full health, full ammunition, and all items they had in their inventory before they died.
