Talent development

Each character available in GreedFall can develop their talents. They are divided into six trees: vigor, charisma, science, lockpicking, craftsmanship and intuition. Choose the appropriate path for you and follow it to create a character that will suit your play style. But you don't have to worry - skills aren't mutually exclusive, but developing them has a huge impact on your character.

If you don't buy a talent, such as lockpicking, your character will not be able to do so until he/she has got the required item. Same applies to craftsmanship and science. These talents enable you to create tools and improvements (craftsmanship) and to brew potions (science). If you don't invest in these talents, your character will have to buy upgrades and potions from sellers, for which you have to spend lots of cash.

Memory Crystal

To reset all of your hero's skills you need an item called Memory Crystal. With it, you can freely modify your character.

Reputation and its impact on the game's ending

Reputation is one of the mechanics in the game. It determines your relationship status with a particular faction or individual. It affects not only how other people in the world perceive you, but also the ending of the game.

Reputation levels are affected by your choices, behaviour (e.g. shooting instead of doing things quietly) or appearing in forbidden zones.

Reputation with Nauts

You can ruin Nauts' reputation in a very simple way. This faction will give you a stealth mission. If you decide that you don't want to act on their behalf and instead of completing the quest you will use your weapons and kill all NPCs in the area, then you may lose lots of Nauts reputation. You won't be able to fix this situation anymore.

Relationship with companions

In GreedFall you can get five companions:

1. Kurt;
2. Vasco;
3. Siora;
4. Petrus;
5. Aphra.

You can develop your relationship with each of them by carrying out companion quests. If you want to get into an affair with any of the heroes, you will be able to do so only after you have finished the quests for that particular member of your team.

Can a companion betray you?

Yes. A companion can betray you if haven't developed a relationship with him or her. You must take care of your relationships with other characters. If you reject your companions, they will betray you at a crucial moment in the story.

How to protect yourself from companion's betrayal?

You must build a relationship with a companion, so he or she won't betray you in later stages of the game. The ideal way to do this is to complete all quests commissioned by each of them.

Important choices and decisions during quests

Most of choices made in GreedFall affect the game's ending. So you must always be vigilant and think carefully about all your decisions.

The first city - Serene

Serene is the first city you'll visit in GreedFall.

What can I do in Serene?

In Serene, you will complete your first main quest - if you complete it, you will automatically leave the city.

Side quests:

1. The Charlatan;
2. Heretic Hunt;
3. Disappearance among the Nauts;
4. Coin Guard Merchandise.

In addition, try to get to every possible place and loot all chests to get as much raw materials and money as possible. For this you will need the ability of lockpicking which is available among your hero's talents.

Can I go return to Serene?

No. Even after completing the storyline, you cannot return to this location.
