Release date: July 26, 2018
The Hur'q Vedcrid Hive-class Dreadnought Carrier is a Tier 6 Dreadnought Carrier / Engineering Carrier hybrid which may be flown by characters of any faction. This starship can be used from any level upon completion of the tutorial experience. As you level up, this ship gains additional hull, weapon slots, and console slots.
Players can obtain this starship from a [Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack], which has a ultra rare chance to drop from a [Infinity Promotion R&D Pack] or a [Infinity Promotion Duty Officer Pack]. This box is bound to you until a ship is chosen. The boxed ship is not bound and so may be traded to other players or bought and sold on the Exchange for energy credits under the name [Special Requisition Pack - Hur'q Vedcrid Hive Dreadnought Carrier [T6]].
This ship could also be purchased as an account-unlock from the Zen Store as a possible choice from the Mudd's Choice Pack of Dread! as part of "Mudd's Market", available from November 20, 2020. Like all items in the Market, the Bundle periodically goes on massive discounts (upwards of 75% during special promotional sales).
Overview[]
Hur'q vessels serve the primary purpose for the insectoid species as mobile hives, housing multiple generations of Hur'q progeny and their Drantzuli attendants.
Functionally little more than mobile starbases, Vedcrid Hives are specialized for the harvesting of resources that keep the two-thousand-year Hur'q cycles intact. Despite a relatively civilian design (when seen through the unique lens of Hur'q society), these vessels are capable of a surprising level of self-defense, and can easily stand toe-to-toe with warships of other species. With minimal retrofitting, their harmonic interfaces can be made to interact with more conventional technology, and can thus be flown by most sentient species.
Despite its name, the Vedcrid Hive is a hybrid Dreadnought-Engineering Carrier, with the weapon and device slots and Starship Mastery package of a Dreadnought Carrier but the Engineering-focused bridge officer seating and console slots of an Engineering Carrier.

Subsystem Targeting[]
The Hur'q Vedcrid Hive-class Dreadnought Carrier comes with built-in Subsystem Targeting abilities. These built-in abilities stay at Rank I and do not automatically rank up when acquiring higher tier Science starships. They are separate from Subsystem Targeting abilities gained through Tactical Space Bridge officer abilities.
- Target Auxiliary Subsystems I
- Target Weapons Subsystems I
- Target Engines Subsystems I
- Target Shields Subsystems I

Specialization seating
The Hur'q Vedcrid Hive-class Dreadnought Carrier features the following specialist seats:
- Commander Engineering/Command
Automated Defense Screens[]
Automated Defense Screens is active at all times while in Combat. Each shield facing has a chance to add a stack of Automated Defense every few seconds when you receive damage, which increases All Damage Resistance Rating. Once 4 stacks are obtained, that shield facing is granted a 5-second immunity to damage. The immunity has a 30-second lockout which begins when the immunity begins, giving it an effective lockout of 25 seconds. Each shield facing has separate stacks and immunity lockouts.
Standard configuration[]
These starships come with standard equipment and weapons of the lowest mark available at the ship's minimum rank. The items provided are appropriate to the type of vessel and its related playing style.
