Save Arabella is a quest available in the first act of Baldur's Gate 3. Although technically it is not required to complete the game, you will probably encounter it. On this page of the guide, we described where to find Arabella and how to save her from the wrath of the druid Kagha.

Imprisoned child

You will learn about Arabella during a cut-scene that happens automatically in the Emerald Grove when you approach the passage leading deeper into the location - Baldurs Gate 3: Childs trial walkthrough - Act 1 - Baldurs Gate 3 Guide, Walkthrough

You will learn about Arabella during a cut-scene that happens automatically in the Emerald Grove when you approach the passage leading deeper into the location. Talk to Komir or Locke - you will learn that their daughter, Arabella, tried to steal the statuette that the druids need to lock the grove. The current Archdruid, Kagha, has the child trapped in the deepest part of the grove - you can offer your help here.

The druids blocking the path will let you pass - Kagha is waiting for you. Go around the statue in the middle of the pond and enter Kagha's quarters through the stone doors.

Kagha's judgment

Inside, Kagha judges Arabella while threatening her with her poisonous viper. Before the skills check, there will be a passive Nature skill check - if you pass it, you will realize that the snake is ready to attack and is just waiting for the slightest movement. Depending on your decisions, the situation can unfold in three different ways:

  1. Saving Arabella - to save Arabella, you must convince Kagha to let her go. You must pass a Nature or Persuasion check (DC 12). Alternatively, you can also cast Detect Thoughts (DC 13), and then tell the Archdruid that she has already proven her authority - now she should prove that she is merciful. If you fail the selected check, but you have passed the previous passive Nature skill check, you can point out that the snake is ready to attack - you will talk some sense into Kagha and she will release Arabella.
  2. Arabella's death - Arabella will die if you observe the situation, encourage her to escape, support Kagha, or fail to convince the Archdruid to release the child. Kagha orders to have Arabella imprisoned, but her viper attacks and kills her instead.
  3. Fight Kagha - you can attack Kagha to free Arabella by force. The consequences will be catastrophic - the snake will kill Arabella, and your aggression will lead to a massacre in the grove. The Druids will attack the tieflings, and you will have to fight Kagha and the remaining Druids. All Druids in the grove will become hostile and the tieflings will die, which will block access to many quests both in this act and in the next ones. You don't have high chances of getting out of this fight alive - the Druids are powerful and there are many of them.
After solving the situation, return to Arabella's parents - Baldurs Gate 3: Childs trial walkthrough - Act 1 - Baldurs Gate 3 Guide, Walkthrough

After solving the situation, return to Arabella's parents. If you managed to save her, they will give you an amulet that allows the wearer to cast Dancing Lights. This is not a very useful item, but it is perfect for Gale to consume (this is a mechanic that will appear a bit later in the first act). Additionally, if Arabella survives the first act, you will unlock her personal quest, which will take place in the second act.
