When deciding to play Ranger in Baldur's Gate 3, you should definitely pay attention to the races that have a bonus to certain Ranger-useful attributes, such as Dexterity, Wisdom and Constitution. Also, there are additional skills offered by individual races, which can further enrich your character's playing style.

Elf

Elves are certainly the right race for Ranger and probably the first to come into your head when creating this character.

  1. Race Bonus: +2 to dexterity;
  2. Keen Senses: the hero is proficient in Perception;
  3. Fey Ancestry: the hero will have an advantage during saving throws against charms, and the magic can't put them to sleep;
  4. Darkvision: the hero can see in the dark within a radius of 12 meters.

Depending on the subrace you choose, you can affect your Ranger even more.

  1. High-Elf subrace: You can travel 9 meters per Turn, +1 to Intelligence;
  2. Wood-Elf subrace: basic walking speed 10.5 meters, proficient in Stealth, +1 to Wisdom.
