Having a lot of gold in Songs of Conquest will allow you to field more units and expand Settlements and Towns faster. On this page of our guide, we show ways of getting gold and explain how to lead to a situation where you receive gold at the start of each turn.
Cities and mines
- The biggest cash gain comes from capturing, controlling and developing settlements. The higher the level of a Town or Settlement, the more gold you get every round. If possible, try to develop all owned settlements at the same pace.
- There are also ways to get a certain amount of gold awarded per turn. To maintain a steady inflow of gold arriving, the most important thing is to find and capture gold mines on the map - you can seize abandoned mines or take over mines controlled by other factions.
- In your settlements, you can build farmsteads and other money-related buildings. Similar buildings can also be found during exploration and you only need to interact with them once to capture them for your faction and reap the benefits.
Gold acquired through exploration
- Gold can be found as loot - make sure to look into every chest, investigate corpses, and visit less notable locations (you can press ALT to highlight interactive elements on the map).
- It is worth delegating a less developed Wielder to do that rather than leave this task to the main Wielder leading your biggest army. All such gains are awarded only once.
Abilities and artifacts
As you develop your Wielders, there may be gold-related abilities to learn. They are:
- Raider - cash gains from looting are increased. The highest level of this ability (3) increases the amount of gold looted by 500%.
- Taxes - you receive an automatic, steady gain of gold per round. The highest level 3 will result in 500 gold gained per round. The gain can be increased if you field more Wielders with the same ability learned.
- In the world, there are also artifacts to find that provide gold. For example, the gloves from our screenshot provide a bonus of 100 gold per round. Remember, however, that such an artifact has to be equipped in one of the active slots to work. The bonus won't be awarded if it is not equipped.
Visiting Marketplaces
- You can also acquire gold by visiting a Marketplace in one of the controlled Towns (you may need to build one in the settlement).
- At the Marketplace, you can sell resources - make sure to sell those you have an excess of. You'll receive gold in return. You can also improve the buy/sell prices by building new Marketplaces in other owned Towns or Settlements.
