The USS Resolute (NCC-47850) was a 25th century Federation starship, a tier 6-rated Resolute-class advanced heavy cruiser and prototype of its class, in Starfleet service in the 2410s decade. (STO website: The Iconian War: T6 Resolute Adv. Heavy Cruiser)

Service history and disposition[]

Namesake[]

The prototype Resolute was a successor in the name, following a light cruiser named USS Resolute active in the 23rd century and a 2380s Centaur-class science vessel USS Resolute. (TOS novel: That Which Divides; ST - Resurgence comic: "Issue 1")

Active service[]

USS Resolute

The NCC registry number of the Resolute.

The new Resolute entered service in the year 2410, around the time of the Iconian War between the Khitomer Alliance that the Federation was part of, and the Iconian Empire[3]. The design was an evolution of the 23rd century Excelsior-class cruiser and, specifically, its 2400s-era heavy cruiser retrofit configuration.

The modern Resolute was equipped with a tactical maneuvering matrix, enabling faster impulse speeds during the pursuit of an enemy vessel. (STO website: The Iconian War: Resolute Heavy Cruiser Stats)

From 2410 onward, the Resolute represented its class on the Starfleet Shipyards Operations interface at Khitomer Alliance shipyard facilities across the Milky Way Galaxy. (STO - The Iconian War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Khitomer Alliance flag officers deployed the Resolute for missions around the galaxy's four quadrants as part of the four-quadrant strategy. (STO - New Dawn mission: "Admiralty System")

Following the Battle of Excalbia on stardate 84999.22[4] in January 2411, which saw the prominent involvement of hero ships from the Federation's past and present, several Federation later other Khitomer Alliance ships underwent a refit to legendary starship[5] qualifications. (STO - J'Ula's Discovery missions: "Measure of Morality (Part 2)", "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Miracle worker heavy cruisers

Excelsior-class variants in 2411.

After the return of Klingon Chancellor L'Rell[6], the 2250s-era USS Repulse was re-launched as a subclass variant of the Excelsior. It was the first legendary starship of that family, and received miracle worker ship notation. The Resolute, the replica USS Enterprise-B, the Repulse and versions of the USS Excelsior were among the heavy cruiser ships that Starfleet refitted match the Repulse legendary starship standards. (STO website: House Divided: The Legendary Excelsior Miracle Worker Heavy Cruiser)
