Resident Evil 7: Main bedroom and children's room walktrough

Last update: 03 September 2020

Now you can rummage through some locked rooms on the upper floor. First (or second depending on your choice) is the main bedroom, along with a storage containing a rather useful backpack and a passageway to the Workshop in the basement (first keycard). In the children's room there's nothing scary nor dangerous, but we could sure use that second key which can be found in the attic.

The bedroom is safe. Check out the Storage behind the door, where you'll find a second backpack, enabling you to increase your inventory capacity. To find the keycard hidden in this room, you'll need to find the secret passage hidden under the bed. To open it, you'll need to set the hour on clock on the night stand to 10:15.

The bed will move, and return to its place once you get past it. Under the bed, there's a basement, or rather a hidden room - the Workshop, where you'll find the red keycard. You'll have to get back through the corridors in the basement, which will be once again full of mutants, so be on your guard.

The children's room on the upper floor is completely safe and without any surprises. The diary on the cabinet will tell you that to reach the attic (where the keycard is), you'll need to find a switch what will activate a ladder. The switch is in the lamp in the western part of the room.

The blue keycard in the attic

The only thing you need to do in the attic is to solve a simple riddle with a figurine and its shadow. This will open the dollhouse, inside of which you'll find the blue keycard. You'll also find a video tape - Happy Birthday.

Optional: the "Happy Birthday" tape

If you wish, you can later watch the tape on any player around the house. This will tell you what's coming... When in the recording, take the candle to the room with the birthday cake - as you'll notice, there are sprinklers there that will extinguish the candle. Your task is to keep the candle lit.

There's a dirty telescope in the toiler

First thing to do in the room with the cake - pull out the Winding Key from inside the barrel. Use it on the doll clown near the room entrance. Then, flush the toilet - you'll find a dirty telescope. Clean it by looking through it while standing under the showers near the cake.

Now, when the telescopes clean, use it to look at the painting on the wall, right of the oven standing on the corridor - Resident Evil 7: Main bedroom and childrens room walktrough - Resident Evil VII Walkthrough - Resident Evil 7 Guide, Walkthrough

Now, when the telescope's clean, use it to look at the painting on the wall, right of the oven standing on the corridor. You'll see three signs that serve as the password for the padlock in the cake room (the combination is as seen on the screenshot above). Inside is a straw doll. Take it and burn it over the oven. It'll turn into a dummy finger, which you can mount on the clown's hand.

Now, get back to the corridor and lit the candle with the flame of the oven. Use the candle flame to burn through the rope leading to the next room. Then, use it to dispose of the balloons - near a drawer, you'll find one deflated balloon, which can be picked up.

Take it with you and inflate it with the air that's leaking from the pipe right of the oven. Once it bursts, you'll get a quill pen. Put the pen inside the clown's hand and wind him.

Once you get past the door, you'll find a valve. Place it near the entrance to the room with the birthday cake, where the water pipe is, and turn it. Now you can finally light the candle and place it on the cake.
