Heroes limit and deleting a character
You can have up to 12 characters in Diablo 4. This may make you want to delete a created character at some point.
To delete a character you must:
- select it on the list of your heroes,
- press the delete button,
- write the character's name.
Then that character will be deleted, making the slot free.
How to restore a deleted character?
Fortunately, deleting a character manually is not irreversible. You can restore it.
In the main menu, press the Undo Character Delete button. The game will display their information:
- The date the character was deleted.
- The name, class and level of the deleted hero.
Pressing the undo button will restore the hero, but you must have at least 1 free slot (out of 12). An additional limitation is that you can only restore the last deleted character. For example, if you deleted 3 characters, the older 2 will be lost forever.
Hardcore mode - permanent character loss
In Diablo 4, as in the previous parts, you can play your character in the hardcore mode - you set this in the last tab when creating a new hero.
Death on hardcore is permanent. You cannot undo this or somehow prevent it. All game saves are not stored locally, but on Diablo 4 servers.
