You will learn, e.g. how to obtain Obols while traveling around the game world, how to increase the limit of Murmuring Obols in the hero's inventory, and whereto spend the Obols you have.

Obols are one of the item types stored in the loot chest that appears after completing the event. By completing a single event, you can get a maximum of 35 Obols (if you complete its mastery objective).

There is a way to increase the Obol limit. You need to raise your Renown in a given region of the world to level four. It can only be unlocked while playing at World Tier 3.

Spending Murmuring Obols

All collected Obols can be spent at the Purveyor of Curiosities - Diablo 4: How to collect Murmuring Obols? - Equipment - Diablo 4 Guide

All collected Obols can be spent at the Purveyor of Curiosities. You will find them in every major city and in selected smaller locations.

The Purveyor of Curiosities offers 2 types of services - Diablo 4: How to collect Murmuring Obols? - Equipment - Diablo 4 Guide

The Purveyor of Curiosities offers 2 types of services:

  1. You can spend Obols on random items - you can choose the category of the item (e.g. ring or boots). There is no guarantee of receiving valuable equipment, because the game rolls an item from all quality categories (including the common).
  2. You can spend Obols on Whispering Keys - in our opinion, this is a better choice, because the keys allow you to open Silent Chests in the game world, where there is a high chance of obtaining valuable loot.

Opening chests with Whispering Keys is described in more detail on the How to open Silent Chests? page.
