Minecraft: Diamonds - how to find? Minecraft guide, tips
Last update: 12 July 2020
On this page of our Minecraft guide, you will find information about diamonds.
General information about diamonds
Diamonds are nearly the most expensive and rare raw material in Minecraft. Their value is crucial mainly because of the ability to make better tools and weapons out of them, which increase the pace of action and the stability of the tools.
Use of diamonds
Diamonds are also used to build some rare objects and armor. Nevertheless, they are not easy to find: they do not occur in large clusters. To mine a diamond you need at least an iron Pickaxe.
Locating diamonds
Diamonds occur at a depth of 1-15 blocks, counting from the base (so-called. Bedrock-blocks that cannot be destroyed and form the basis of the world). They occur more frequently, however, at a height of 5-12. You can check your elevation by pressing F3 on the PC, which will show the coordinates of your character. Due to the generation of random structures and lava lakes, you may have difficulty finding diamonds between levels 4-10. In addition, lava is dangerous (especially if you dig it from the top or bottom), so it is always useful to have a bucket of water.
Mining diamond
You can use a variety of methods to search successfully. The most popular is making small tunnels at a distance of 2 blocks of a narrow tunnel so as to dig as little area as possible, and thus check out the largest area.
