Here you will learn how to tame animals and turn them into your allies. We explain the game's mechanics and the benefits of taming.

What can be tamed?

Animal taming isn't a difficult task. You can tame any animal that:

  1. Doesn't have the Corruption status,
  2. Isn't hostile towards you (you've never attacked it),
  3. Has a Favorite food - it's displayed in the Bestiary after inspecting the required number of said creatures.
  4. Isn't owned by someone else.
  5. Isn't hungry - if it's green bar is full, you won't be able to feed him. This can be fixed with the Hunger potion.
You won't be able to tame animals that already belong to someone else. - The Serpent Rogue: Taming animals - Followers and Monsters - The Serpent Rogue Guide

How to tame?

To tame an animal, you need to find out their favourite food - The Serpent Rogue: Taming animals - Followers and Monsters - The Serpent Rogue Guide

To tame an animal, you need to find out their favourite food. We'll use the Chicken as an example. They're a good creature to start with, since they're found in the Wasteland, they're harmless and they like worms. Start by obtaining worms from tree trunks, such as the one located in the Abandoned House.

Next, walk up to a chicken and feed it (the option will appear when you approach it) - The Serpent Rogue: Taming animals - Followers and Monsters - The Serpent Rogue Guide

Next, walk up to a chicken and feed it (the option will appear when you approach it). The more powerful the monster, the more food might be necessary. Chickens often relent after one or two attempts.

Monsters infected by Corruption need to be cured first, which can be done once all the aforementioned taming requirements have been met.

What to do after taming?

You can send the animal to a camp or have it travel alongside you - The Serpent Rogue: Taming animals - Followers and Monsters - The Serpent Rogue Guide

You can send the animal to a camp or have it travel alongside you. Once sent to the camp, they will automatically head to the farm, where you need to place food to feed them and restore their health.
