On this page of the guide to LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga, you will find the most important information about character development and progression. You will learn how to buy general upgrades and skills related to the main classes of heroes, for example.
Skill trees
There are two different ways to develop your character in LEGO Skywalker Saga . The first method is buying Core Upgrades, i.e. skills shared among all characters that will be useful to you regardless of the character class used in subsequent missions or during free exploration.
The most important groups of skills to unlock are:
- Extra Health - this increases the vitality of your heroes and you will appreciate it especially when confronting bosses and groups of elite opponents. The "death" of the hero is not severely punished in this game, but you can lose some of the Studs.
- Collectable Detector - this device is able to mark the location of collectibles while exploring the world. This will let you obtain the valuable secrets more easily, although in some cases, it may still be necessary to, for example, complete a puzzle to unlock access to a given collectible.
- Attract Studs - This is a great passive ability that allows automatically attract studs from greater distance. This saves your time and makes sure you won't miss most of the Studs in combat situations that require more focus.
The second part of character development is buying skills for each character class. As a reminder, these are the classes that use individual skills:
- Jedi,
- Hero,
- Scavenger,
- Scoundrel,
- Bounty Hunter,
- Villain,
- Dark Side,
- Astromech Droids,
- Protocol Droid.
Each of the listed classes has different unlockable skills upgrades. The Jedi class, for example, can have increased power of Force attacks and mind control skills.
When unlocking new skills, you should obviously prioritize the character classes that you use most often. In the story mode, you will spend most of your time with Jedi, Heroes and the two types of droids.
Resources
Unfortunately, you need two different types of resources to buy skills:
- Kyber blocks - You can find them in the game world as collectibles and receive them by completing missions and challenges (we have described them on a separate page of the guide).
- Studs - You collect them mainly by destroying objects and machines in the locations you visit. Visit the page Studs - how to get more? to learn how to become rich quickly in the game.
The Bricks are much more difficult to obtain than Studs, so you should spend them on the most important upgrades first. In addition to progressing in the campaign, try to acquire new Bricks on a regular basis for your next purchases.
