Last update: 06 March 2024
On this page of the guide to LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga, you will find tips for collecting more Studs. The technique we described involves using Datacards to unlock stud multipliers combined with farming studs. This will allow you to buy more characters, ships and other bonuses.
Studs - reasons to acummulate them
Studs are the most important currency in the LEGO Skywalker Saga. You may want to accumulate them in large number primarily to:
- Achieve True Jedi status on a particular mission. Each level has different number of studs required to acquire this title.
- Purchase bonus items for studs. You can spend studs to buy new playable characters, ships, and Rumours. The latter, for example, hints you the location of puzzles and collectibles or reveals the conditions of challenges for specific missions.
Stud Multipliers - how to unlock?
By default, the number of studs you find in the game world is the number that will be add to your stud bar. Additionally, the color affect the value of each stud. The most valuable are the blue (1,000) and purple (10,000) studs, but they are harder to find (especially the purple ones, which can be well hidden on maps).
In LEGO Skywalker Saga, you can use a feature known from other LEGO series titles, which allows you to unlock stud multipliers. Thanks to them, you can increase the number of studs you get and, as a result, you can accumulate them much faster.
To buy multipliers, check out the Extras menu. There, you will find different variants of multipliers to unlock:
- Studs x2 - You need to spend 1 million studs and sacrifice 1 Datacard (we described it below).
- Studs x4 - You need to spend 2 million studs and sacrifice 1 Datacard.
- Studs x6 - You need to spend 8 million studs and sacrifice 1 Datacard.
- Studs x8 - You must spend 48 million studs and sacrifice 1 Datacard.
- Studs x10 - You must spend 384 million studs and sacrifice 1 Datacard.
You should be able to get studs x2, x4 and x6 early in the game. Avoid other purchases and use the coin farming method described later on this page.
Datacards, which are items required to purchase Stud Multipliers, are collectibles. You can find their icons while exploring the open-locations maps. We've also described them in our chapters about secrets. Try to get at least 3 of them quite early.
Studs farming - example levels
An example of a stage appropriate for collecting large numbers of coins is the Now This is Podracing level, which is the last of episode 1. You will have a lot of opportunities to get studs that are in the open or hidden in the destroyed enemy ships and objects. Additionally, replaying this stage shouldn't take much time because it consists of two relatively short battles (in outer space and inside the enemy ship).
Another suitable stage to farm the studs is the Stay on Target level, which is the last mission of Episode 4. You can complete it in minutes, but is still packed with action. You can destroy enemy flying machines, stationary cannons, and objects on the surface of the Death Star. For all of them you be rewarded with large number of studs. You should be able to collect around 100,000 studs with the default counter (no multipliers active).
You can use the previously mentioned or other favorite levels to unlock the x2, x4, and x6 multipliers one by one. The x8 and x10 multipliers are much more time-consuming, but if you want to facilitate the campaign and unlock 100% of the game, you can continue farming studs to get the missing multipliers.
