On this page of the LEGO Skywalker Saga game guide, you will find out when your progress is saved. In addition, we have included information on whether you can save the game manually.
Saving your progress in LEGO Skywalker Saga is simultaneously similar to other games but unique in some ways. Here are the key rules of this system:
The game is keeping track of the collectibles you find. After obtaining a secret, you don't have to reach any checkpoint because the progress will be immediately saved on your profile. In the case of some collectibles, they may be replaced by studs found later.
The same is true for optional activities. Completing a given activity (e.g. puzzle or side mission) will be automatically saved by the game. You will not have to repeat it later, for example, to unlock a given passage again.
It is a bit different for the story progress. The most important rule is that you have to finish entire story levels for the game to consider them as completed. If you exit the game in the middle of the mission, you won't be able to resume it in the same place, but you will always start from the beginning. Fortunately, the levels in the game are not very long and the collectibles will be automatically saved.
In the case of open locations, after exiting the game, you will return to the starting place. You won't lose your progress with collectibles and activities, but it may be necessary to walk or fast travel to the place where you stopped earlier.
LEGO Skywalker Saga doesn't have the option to save manually. All your progress is saved automatically by the game (completed activities, obtained collectibles, last visited location, or started level).
Additional hint - If you are playing LEGO Skywalker Saga on PC or PS4, you can make copies of your saves by transferring them, for example, to a USB device. This will not help you in progress but will prevent damaging your saves, e.g. after an error occurs or the game freezes. Unfortunately, this option is not available on PS5 and Xbox consoles.
