Rayvis is one of the toughest bosses from the Destroyed Moon from the Star Wars Jedi Survivor game. In this guide we explain how to reach his lair in the Republic Research Laboratory, how to stop the boss's unique attacks and how to win the 2 phases of the duel with Rayvis.

During the exploration of the Republic Research Laboratory on Shattered Moon in Jedi Survivor, you will have to face a boss - Rayvis. On this page of the guide, you can find a detailed description of the fight, which consists of two phases - you'll learn of the boss's red and ranged attacks, as well as effective methods of blocking Rayvis's attacks and returning with your own.
Rayvis encounter arena
Rayvis is an adversary who you've had the pleasure of encountering during your first visit to Koboh in Rambler's Reach Outpost, but you hadn't faced him then. During one of the visits to Shattered Moon, you'll receive an objective of pursuing him.
You finally catch up to him on the top floor of Republic Research Laboratory. To get to where you need to be, you need to unlock the improved Ascension Cable and follow a path laid out by levitating balloons (we recommend resting at the nearby Meditation Point before going further).
Cal will reach the highest platform and enter an arena where Rayvis is found. After the conversation, the fight will begin.
The first phase of the fight
Your task is to deprive Rayvis of his red health bar two times. For the duration of the first phase of the fight, try to avoid spending Stims, as they come in handy later.
Rayvis's weapon allows him to extend its range by swinging a chain with a heavy tip at its end in your direction, and this attack can hit you even from larger distances. Remember to be ready to block, parry, and evade even when away from the boss.
One of the boss's attacks with the chain is a red attack starting with a swing. When you see the build-up for it (boss swinging), quickly run away or perform an evade at the right moment to not get hit.
Another red attack of the boss is him slamming the ground creating a shockwave. The move is telegraphed well in advance, so you have a large enough window to dodge to a side.
During the first phase of the encounter, Rayvis also utilizes normal attack combinations. You can easily break these attacks with parrying, this way depleting Rayvis's stamina bar. With his stamina depleted, attacking the boss is much easier.
The boss can also dash away and fire his blaster - hold block to stop the projectiles or deflect them.
No matter the phase you are in, you can make damaging the boss easier by using Force-charged attacks. For example, you can use Focused Parry from Dual Wield or a charged blaster attack from Blaster stance.
When correctly performed, these attacks can interrupt boss's moves. This can lower the risk of being struck by an attack, and makes returning with your own attacks easier.
The second phase of the fight
After Rayvis looses his health bar for the first time, a cut-scene will be activated. Rayvis will remove some parts of his armor and purple tentacles will appear. This begins the second, more difficult phase of the fight.
New moves of the boss include grabbing attempts and this is a red attack. Avoid it at all costs as after being grabbed, you cannot mitigate the incoming damage, which will take a lot of your health.
Try to stay in melee range, as otherwise the boss may use a difficult to mitigate rocket barrage. If you really want to try deflecting it, a charged Force attack can send the missiles back to the boss.
In the second phase, the boss uses combinations more often and the most complex of them is a five-hit combo, ending with a red attack with the chain. Try to interrupt it or perform a perfect evade.
Depriving Rayvis of his second health bar will end the fight. A cut-scene will play where the defeated boss asks for a honorable death.
